Which SNL cast members came back for Season 47 of Saturday Night Live?

Less than a week before the premiere of the new season, the full cast of SNL Season 47 was finally revealed, and—good news!—most of the show's beloved stars are back.

Almost everyone from Season 46 officially returned for Season 47—except for longtime cast member Beck Bennett and featured player Lauren Holt, who was a cast newbie in Season 46.

Bennett bid farewell to the series by writing in a Sept. 27 Instagram post, "Love you, SNL. Gonna miss you so much. Thank you for 8 years of remarkable people and incredible experiences that completely changed my life. I had so much fun."

Variety reported in August 2021 that SNL creator Lorne Michaels "hopes to get some cast members to agree to stay through the show's 50th" season. While there was speculation that Strong, Bryant, Kate McKinnon and Kenan Thompson might be leaving the show following the Season 46 finale—in which all four took to the show's main stage and delivered what felt like a tearful, bittersweet cold open—we now know that they're back for Season 47 alongside returning stars Kyle Mooney, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Colin Jost, Michael Che, Alex Moffat, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Melissa Villaseñor and Bowen Yang. Season 47 will also feature Andrew Dismukes and Punkie Johnson, who joined as featured players last season.

During an interview with costars Strong and McKinnon back in August 2021, Bryant told The Hollywood Reporter, "I feel like SNL makes you incredibly good at not banking on anything. You're able to take it minute by minute by minute, and you almost realize how foolish it is to do anything else. So, at least for the three of us, I feel like that's become our approach on coming back or, really, about anything. Just take it minute by minute and see." (McKinnon, for her part, agreed with Bryant's sentiment by adding, "Absolutely," while Strong called her remarks "beautiful.")

Meanwhile, Thompson has said that he is "never in a rush to leave." As he explained toChance the Rapper at SXSW in March 2021, "There aren't many live shows left [on TV]. It never gets old because it's a sketch comedy and it changes every week."

Is Pete Davidson back for Season 47 of Saturday Night Live?

Yes! The 27-year-old returned for SNL Season 47.

Davidson admitted to GoldDerby in June 2021 that he was unsure if another SNL season was in the cards for him. "I don't know what the plan is," he confessed. "Everything's kind of up in the air right now just depending on scheduling."

The actor added that Season 46 of the NBC series was "really emotional" and noted, "It is my seventh year, and that's usually what the contract's usually for."

In the Season 46 finale, Davidson signed off from Weekend Update saying, "I'm very grateful to be here and it's been an honor to grow up in front of you guys."
